Your child will be most comfortable in sturdy, simple, washable clothes, free of complicated fasteners, lace and ribbon.  Our art activities and water play are often messy: the children may get dirty.  Please provide ample warm outer clothing for outdoor play in cold weather.  All clothing should have the child’s name on it.  Iron on labels or sewn on labels may be ordered from a yardage store, with his/her name printed on them.  Genesis is not responsible for any lost or exchanged clothing.  The safety of your child is important!  Open toe and plastic shoes may not be worn.

DISCIPLINARY STATEMENT

Genesis (The Beginning) Pre-School/Childcare provides the best care for our children.  All staff members are expected to model respect towards each other and all children.  This will promote a positive atmosphere with Love, Order, Obedience, and Understanding.

DISCIPLINARY PRACTICES

All form of corporal and psychological punishment are strictly prohibited!  A positive approach to child’s guidance is employed-reasoning and positive re-direction.  If a child is too upset to be responsive, “Time Out” (a few minutes with an adult on a one to one basis) may be employed until the child can regain self-control and return to the work/play area.  If several attempts at positive discipline have failed and the unacceptable behavior is continuing the School will ask the parents to attend a conference.  Also the School reserves the right to dismiss a child if in the opinion of the School; the child’s needs can no longer be met by the School.
